An error log is a list of the error messages and warnings which appeared for one reason or another while your visitors were looking through your site. Such a log contains raw information about the way the web server has handled requests in different situations. An error message may appear if, for example, a link leads to a page or a file that isn't on the server, if the code on a specific page can't be processed, if somebody is trying to access the website or its back office via an IP address that is blocked by an .htaccess rule etc. The info in the error log features the IP of the site visitor, what error message displayed and the cause for the hosting server to show it, the full path to the file which generated the error and the exact time of the event. Having this info will permit you to figure out if any part of your Internet site has an issue, which you can then take care of. Therefore, your visitors will have a better experience and you will boost the site for optimum performance.
